Congratulations to these boys and girls for having “rockin’ behavior” for last week: Hope Swinney, Jaylee Logan, Eli Massey, Ava Johnson, Hayden Lazar, Maddox Morein, Miranda Mayfield, Jaelyn Harris, Addie Cross, Ethan Pickens, Leura Rowsey, Alonzo Guzman, Bradley Hampton, and Emma Cox.  Also, a big congratulations to Miss Rebecca Reddinger’s kindergarten class, Mrs. Heather Melton’s first grade class, and Mrs. Heather Bates’ second grade classes for having perfect attendance all week! Way to go boys and girls!

We are really enjoying mixing our kids up and getting to know each other among grades while having “House Parties.”  Students will need to wear their “house colors” on Friday, the 28th. Students are working really hard for their house to get the most points for behavior, attendance, etc.  The Blue Barracudas gave up the spirit stick to the Green Geckos on Friday. Who will take it away from them this week?

Please collect Box Tops for Education!  Each box top equals 10 cents for our school!  This is an easy way for us to earn money for our school.  There was a note sent home from the library, along with the collection sheet.  Anytime that you need more sheets, they are in a basket in the library or you can let your child’s teacher know.  You can also put 50 box tops in a ziploc bag.

Watch for a note coming home soon from the library regarding the Pumpkin Book Character Decorating Contest.  We’ve done this the last couple of years and it’s been a big success! Go ahead and get those creative juices flowing!  Begin thinking about who your pumpkin will be!

Our PTO membership drive is now underway!  It will run through October 4th. This year, the PTO will be providing you with an extra benefit of being a member of the PTO.  Dues this year are $5, but with that $5 comes a card with discounts all over town! You will more than get your money back if you take advantage and become a member.  Businesses included on the membership/discount card include: Jack’s, Sweetly Ever After, Dairy Queen, Green’s Garage, Snappy Tomato, and Wendy’s. Anyone can join the PTO so ask family, friends, and co-workers!  The top three students will receive a trophy, a kid’s meal, and their picture in the paper. All students who bring in at least 15 members will receive a free P.E. time. The classroom that brings in the most memberships combined will receive a pizza party.  All classrooms with 100% participation will receive a popcorn party.

Please mark your calendar for these upcoming dates: Sept. 4 - Oct. 4 - PTO Membership Drive; Oct. 3 - Picture money due; Oct. 4 - 5 - Parent-Teacher Conferences; Oct. 8-12 - Fall Break!
