Thank you to those parents who were able to attend our Parent-Teacher Conferences last week.  We had a really good turn out! Also, thank you to those who came and supported the Lifeline Blood Drive on Friday morning.  Congratulations to these boys and girls for being selected for “Rockin’ Behavior” last week: Lilli Carter, Maite Garcia, Vivian Sanders, Avery Cooper, Levi Harris, Logan Hughes, Aiden Maccarino, Carter Kiestler, Levi Elder, Kylee Rogers, Colton Henley, Madi Holder, Donnae Robinson, and Savannah Addair.

Please collect Box Tops for Education!  Each box top equals 10 cents for our school!  This is an easy way for us to earn money for our school.  There was a note sent home from the library, along with the collection sheet.  Anytime that you need more sheets, they are in a basket in the library or you can let your child’s teacher know.  You can also put 50 box tops in a ziploc bag. We will send off our first submission soon so please have yours in by October 19th and then keep collecting.  We would like to thank Mrs. Emily’s mother, Mrs. Janice Armour, for being an assistant coordinator for Box Tops this year!

The West Chester Pumpkin Decorating Contest will be October 15th-18th!  They will be judged on the 19th. Pumpkins should represent a favorite book character.  Please try and have the book with the pumpkin or make a copy of the book cover. There will be a $3 entry fee and a variety of prizes will be awarded.  A note and entry form were sent home last week.

Our PTO membership drive has been extended until Tuesday, the 16th.  This year, the PTO will be providing you with an extra benefit of being a member of the PTO.  Dues this year are $5, but with that $5 comes a card with discounts all over town! You will more than get your money back if you take advantage and become a member.  Businesses included on the membership/discount card include: Jack’s, Sweetly Ever After, Dairy Queen, Green’s Garage, Snappy Tomato, and Wendy’s. Anyone can join the PTO so ask family, friends, and co-workers!  The top three students will receive a trophy, a kid’s meal, and their picture in the paper. All students who bring in at least 15 members will receive a free P.E. time. The classroom that brings in the most memberships combined will receive a pizza party.  All classrooms with 100% participation will receive a popcorn party.

We hope you all have a safe and happy fall break!  Please mark your calendar for these upcoming dates: Oct. 8-12 - Fall Break; Oct. 18 - Parent Involvement at 6:00; Oct. 26 - H.E.R.O Day; November 6 - No School; November 30-PTO Christmas Extravaganza
