Meet the Principal

It is my honor and privilege to introduce myself to you as the principal of West Chester Elementary School. I grew up in Dyer County and graduated from Dyer County High School. I then graduated from Union University with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. I began teaching at Jacks Creek Elementary in Chester County in 1993 shortly after marrying my husband, Mark. I taught third grade for 17 years and pursued a Master's of Education in Supervision and Administration from the University of Tennessee at Martin in 2009.  I then accepted the position of principal at Jacks Creek Elementary for the three years. In the fall of 2013, I transferred to West Chester Elementary. I can honestly say that I would choose this career path again, if I had the option. Being an educator has been extremely rewarding despite its challenges.

Constant support for me has come from my family. Mark and I have two children, Katelyn and Gregory. Katelyn and her husband, Taylor, live in Memphis and have their own careers. Gregory is a freshman at Jackson State Community Collegel. I am grateful every day for them all.

My philosophy is simple...Everthing we do, or fail to do, teaches somebody something. We must be certain that we leading well!
